The UK Concrete Show 2013, BirminghamJanuary 28, 2013
In a huge global industry, such as that which governs concrete provision and services, it’s important to stay on top of all major changes and developments to ensure the best and most efficient working practices. That’s why the third annual UK Concrete Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre is a must for all those involved in the trade.
Here’s a handy guide to this year’s event, with some basic information and recommendations on what to go and see…
This year, the UK Concrete Show takes place over two days on February 27th (09.00-17.00) and 28th (09.00-16.00) at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Now in its third year, the event has moved from its previous location at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena to accommodate its growing size and stature, and will feature exhibitions and demonstrations alongside useful seminars.
Free to all trade visitors on both days, Thursday 28th is also open to students, and seminars will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Having grown exponentially over its three years in existence, the 2013 UK Concrete Show has seen an increase in size by over 33% from the previous event, which in turn has enforced a move to the NEC in Birmingham. This will obviously result in our biggest show yet, and the event is well on course to claim its status as one of the top three in the global concrete industry.
This year, in recognition of the country’s contribution to the concrete world, Germany will be celebrated with a ‘Wurst & Pils’ café located at the centre of the show. Serving traditional German sausage and draught Pils, the café will act as a networking hub, giving you the ideal place to work the room!
Benefits of Attending:
If your business is involved in the concrete industry in any way, the UK Concrete Show is a key date for your diary. Not only will attendance help you to keep up to date with changes to working practices and developments in equipment, you will also learn how to work in a safer, greener and more efficient manner.
The event is the ideal place to network with suppliers and potential clients from around the world, and brings the keenest minds in the industry together to share their wisdom.
This year, there are over 200 leading industry companies expected to exhibit, including BASF, CCL, EKC Systems, Fibrwrap Construction UK, i-Theses, Proceq UK, SIG Construction Accessories, Tyrolit and many, many more. Some of these companies will also be putting on demo’s and training sessions, giving you an insight into their working practices. What Else is Going On?
Away from the 200 stalls of exhibitors, there’s a whole range of activities going on to help you get the most out of the show.
Over four of the venue’s dedicated seminar theatres, there will be 40 talks given by leading professionals in the field, discussing technical matters and industry issues that affect all companies. Seminar topics range from microsilica to calcium nitrate; sustainable materials to hydrodemolition; and everything in between. There’s even a light-hearted concrete quiz at the end of the first day (Wednesday 27th), chaired by journalist and BBC Radio presenter Martin Kelner!
